My Practice

My practice:

I am a writer who mixes reality and fiction in their work by placing these accounts of real and fiction works side by side to blur the boundaries between reality and fiction, revealing the authorship in everyday activity and asking readers their own state of existence within a larger text.

If indeed you meet with me, you become integrated into both a fictional and real narrative operating simultaneously and then have the choice of whether to act in a fictional or real way (both of which become identical). By maintaining an online presence, my readership is able to interact with me in a manner that they could not necessarily do otherwise.

My work reveals the flawed notion that fiction and reality can indeed operate as a binary opposition working against each other.

Suspension of disbelief:
I take Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s notion of the wilful suspension of disbelief and break it up by offering an alternative mode of operation – the unwilful suspension of belief – where belief in reality is removed because fiction and reality are operating simultaneously. My artistic process, builds a stage upon which reality can act presenting itself as a fiction.
